Thanksgiving Foods That Can be Harmful to Your Pets

Image
Thanksgiving comes with a preponderance of food going around. After all, and rightfully so, it is the day to celebrate the harvest and graces of the previous year. The cute companions will be begging for scraps under the table between the laughs, glass clinks, and cheers. While you may be tempted to let them have a taste, it is paramount for you to understand that certain foods served on Thanksgiving may mean an emergency trip to the veterinary. Below are some Thanksgiving foods that may be harmful to your pets. - Grapes and Raisins  Fruit salads, in particular, the Waldorf Salad, is often served as part of the Thanksgiving menu. While the grapes or raisins may be useful in adding a fresh twist to your Salad, feeding this to your dogs or cats may be fatal. Grapes are highly toxic to dogs and cause them to develop acute kidney injury, which may cause them to vomit or have diarrhea within six hours of consumption. Therefore, be sure to keep them away from your pets. #petthanksgivingfood

Teaching Your Dog How to Fetch – The Basics

Image
Fetch is an incredible and fantastic way of spending quality time with your poodle. Apart from helping you bond with them, it is also a great way of helping your beloved poodle stay in great shape while ensuring they get enough mental stimulation, attention, and physical exercise to lead healthy lives. Here are some steps you can implement to make this a reality. Start by Selecting a Suitable Toy It is imperative to settle on one suitable toy that you will use to teach your dog how to fetch. For most pet parents, this can be as simple as a tennis ball, hoop, or chew toy. Speaking of which, dogs learn how to fetch faster when taught with their favorite toy. Nonetheless, be sure to avoid anything that is slippery, small, or a toy that they could swallow inadvertently as they learn the basics of this exciting game. Overall, go for something that they are naturally attracted to, which is also easy to throw. #dogs #howtofetch #pet #petplay See Full Article Below https://www.vetplano.com/tea

Most Common Household Toxins for Pets to be Aware of

Image
It's only natural to want to keep your pet safe, healthy, and in the best health possible. However, sometimes this is only the case considering that your pet's super-curious nature will sometimes get them into serious problems, especially if you are the type of person who happens to have stuff lying around. In fact, according to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), hundreds of thousands of pets around the world will ingest pet toxicities every year, something that can be easily averted if the owners were a little more prudent or considerate on how they store things around the house. That said, here are some of the common household toxins that could harm your furry friend. Medications and Prescription Common anti-depressants, ADHD medications, and cardiac-arrest prescriptions are particularly toxic to pets, even though your pet is still likely to suffer significant consequences from ingesting any human medication. #householdtoxins #petpoisoning
