Thanksgiving Foods That Can be Harmful to Your Pets

Thanksgiving comes with a preponderance of food going around. After all, and rightfully so, it is the day to celebrate the harvest and graces of the previous year. The cute companions will be begging for scraps under the table between the laughs, glass clinks, and cheers. While you may be tempted to let them have a taste, it is paramount for you to understand that certain foods served on Thanksgiving may mean an emergency trip to the veterinary. Below are some Thanksgiving foods that may be harmful to your pets.

- Grapes and Raisins

Fruit salads, in particular, the Waldorf Salad, is often served as part of the Thanksgiving menu. While the grapes or raisins may be useful in adding a fresh twist to your Salad, feeding this to your dogs or cats may be fatal. Grapes are highly toxic to dogs and cause them to develop acute kidney injury, which may cause them to vomit or have diarrhea within six hours of consumption. Therefore, be sure to keep them away from your pets.
