How to Care for Your Pet in the Heat

We are approaching summer, and as the temperatures soars in the coming weeks, it's critical to take extra precautions to keep your furry friends cool and comfortable. Here are some tips for caring for your pet in the heat:

- Provide plenty of water: Make sure your pet has access to clean and fresh water at all times. Fill up their water bowl frequently throughout the day, and consider adding ice cubes to keep the water cool.

- Limit outdoor time: Avoid taking your pet outside during the hottest parts of the day, typically between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you do need to take them out, keep the walk short and stay in the shade as much as possible.

- Watch for signs of overheating: Symptoms of overheating in pets include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and vomiting. If you notice any of these signs, take your pet to a cool, shady area and provide them with water immediately.
